Let the beauty you love be what you do, there are a thousand ways to kneel and kiss the earth. Rumi

We first met Amie & Eric as they were planning their fall wedding at Hunter Mountain. We loved them immediately and couldn’t wait to work with them. Fast forward several months and we get an e-mail saying they were rethinking their original wedding plan and were toying with the idea of a destination wedding in one of their favorite places, the Caribbean island of Antigua. We were so bummed because we were so excited to capture their wedding but then they asked if we might be interested in coming. Antigua? In January? With Amie & Eric? Yes, please. So we found ourselves on a white sand beach with the music of a steel drum as turquoise waves washed ashore. Amie was the most relaxed bride you have ever seen. Her friends had tagged along on a make-up lesson back home with Tina of Flawless by Tina (which I really recommend to destination brides who may not be comfortable working with a make-up artist at their destination) and wow did they learn fast. They did an amazing job. Amie went in the water. Yippee! and Eric was up for anything too. The resort they chose, The Verandah Resort & Spa, was just breath-taking. It was perfection in every way.
One of my favorite dress shots ever.
Love.
How about those blue eyes?
The view from Amie & Eric’s suite. Sigh.
I LOVE this one too. That is a relaxed, happy bride.
Eric and Amie met half way down the aisle. So sweet.
I think you could smell these flowers from anywhere on the island. They were just beautiful.
At first I was incredibly irritated by the presence of this boat but in the end I found a way to work it and I love this image.
Have I mentioned how much fun we had… and the light? Oh the light!
This is something I have always wanted to do but it is a rare bride who will sit in some sandy water…so worth it though.
Two of my absolute favorites.
Love. Love. LOVE.
Beautiful.
LOVE a million times over.

We can’t wait to share the images from Amie & Eric’s wedding in Antigua but before we do we wanted to show you a little bit more of the island and some of the other places we photographed this fun couple. It is such a beautiful place and Amie & Eric showed us a few of their favorite spots. And every single time I look at them I just want to go back. The wedding will be on the blog tomorrow!
These images were taken at Shirley Heights, an old fort and the highest point on the island. Every weekend there is a giant barbecue and steel drum bands.
SO much fun.
It also happens to be the spot where Eric proposed.
So jealous of photographers who get to live in places where the sun shines all year round.
A little light hiking involved in this one…in flip flops of course, but so worth it.
The view of English Harbor.
Then it was off to Devil’s Bridge National Park which is right next to the resort we stayed at so we could just walk through a little break in the trees and emerge here!
I love everything about this one. The movement of the grass, the colors and the couple : ) Definitely a favorite.
ohhhh the light. the light. the light. the light.
Amie & Eric were up for anything, climbed any rock or field that we suggested and we so appreciate that. Sometimes getting to that magic spot is not easy!
Amie and Eric are both so photogenic and that pink glow…love it.
This trailer makes me so happy.
Check back tomorrow for a whole lot more!
